James Anthony "Jamey" Hewitt, 44, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Hewitt was a graduate of McCallie School and UTC and received his law degree from Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law in Memphis. 

He was a member of the Tennessee and Chattanooga Bar Association and the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Hewitt. 

Survivors are his wife, Sara Hewitt; father, Billy Hewitt, both of Chattanooga; brother, David Hewitt, Durham, NC;  two uncles, Richard Hewitt and Jack (Jessica) Good, both of Chattanooga and his loving dog, Barkley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
