Maestro Jooyong Ahn and the UTC Orchestra will present the Harvest of Friendship Concert, featuring the North American debut of award winning South American (Argentine) Guest Conductor Ramiro Soto Monllor, on Thursday, Oct. 9, 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall.
The concert will include Saint-Saens Carnival of Animals, a "delightful musical romp through an autumn forest filled with uniquely mellifluous calls of all manner of beasts, critters and varmints."
Ramiro Soto Monllor is the music director of San Isidro Orchestra School, with the prior affiliation with Giuseppe Verdi Opera Co., J. Hernandez Superior Institutes of Music, Buenos Aires and several orchestras in other cities in Argentina, and winner of the 2006 National Arts Fund Scholarship for orchestra conducting in Argentina.
He will be conducting Haydn Symphony #104 in D – from its "grandiose opening through movements of distinct and unique character - drama, whimsy, mischief, Haydn’s last symphony presents conductors and orchestras a gratifying challenge from beginning to jubilant end."
The concert is free and open to the public.
