New Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson told the Bradley County Commission he was working to give prisoners more access to ministers by extending hours of operation.

He said, "We welcome ministers to come to the Bradley County Sheriff's Office."

He also said, "We are now open seven days a week, 12 hours a day."

Ministers will still have to go through the same process as other visitors.

Sheriff Watson said, "We hope that if we can just change one person's life, one criminal, that's one less criminal the tax payers have to pay for."

During the meeting, a resolution that would allow building inspectors to publish codes in the newspaper was also discussed.

Commissioner Charlotte Peak-Jones said, "We have to adopt something. Our building inspectors go above and beyond with all of us builders to try to make it easy as possible."
