Bert Leonard Hicks
Bert Leonard Hicks, 73, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on January 18, 2015.
He was an elder at East Ridge Presbyterian Church for several years. He retired as a vice president in wealth management from AmSouth Bank. Bert was a board member of the following: Bonny Oaks Foundation, Bethel Bible Village and VITAL (Visually Impaired Training and Learning). He was past president of the Downtown Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Bert was a graduate of the Tennessee Bankers School of Vanderbilt, School of Banking of the South at LSU and Covenant College.
Surviving relatives are Carlene Thomas Hicks, wife of 53 years, daughters, Elizabeth Hicks (John) Burk of Rome, Ga., Rebecca Hicks (David) Parham of East Ridge, Tn., brother, Franklin (Sandra) Hicks, and sister, Carolyn Hicks Mills; grandchildren, Julie Burk Crenshaw, Amy Burk Forkner, Valerie Joy Burk and Megan Victoria Parham, three great-grandchildren and four nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend J.R. Caines officiating. The interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens-South.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
