Police have charged Johnny Clarence Carter, 27, with aggravated robbery in a holdup on Appling Street, where one person was shot.

In the incident last Wednesday night, Kimberlyn Willis said she went with Eric Reidy and John Jernigan to buy marijuana on Appling Street.

Police said they were told that Jernigan got out to talk to two black males standing by the roadside. He was robbed at gunpoint and escorted back to the car.

The pair then held Reidy and Ms. Willis at gunpoint as well, while demanding their money and cell phones.

When Jernigan got into the back seat, Reidy tried to drive off and was shot in the left arm and right leg.

The trio then drove to Erlanger Hospital.

A patrol officer noted that a known drug dealer, Carter, stays at 2006 Appling St. and matched the description of the taller gunman.

Carter was then picked out of a lineup as one of the gunmen.

Carter has an extensive criminal record of drugs, driving offense and assaults.
