Whitfield County Teacher Elizabeth Scroggs Arrested For Sexual Relationship With Student

Administrators with the Whitfield County School System received information on Tuesday that a teacher may be having an improper relationship with one of her students.

School administrators immediately notified the sheriff’s office and an investigation was initiated. During the investigation investigators obtained evidence and determined Elizabeth Scroggs, a teacher at Coahulla Creek High School was having a sexual relationship with one of her students. None of the sexual activity is believed to have occurred on school property. The sexual activity between the two started in December of this year. The student involved is 18.

Elizabeth Scoggs, 32, of Ringgold, was taken into custody at the school on Wednesday and was charged with sexual assault by persons with supervisory or disciplinary authority, a felony. She is being held at the Whitfield County Jail without bond.
