Old Chicago Pizza And Taproom Launches 3rd Installment Of Explorer Series In Chattanooga

  • Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom, a traditional casual dining restaurant known for its expansive selection of craft beers, is continuing its Explorer Series on Feb. 4, and has collaborated with Left Hand Brewing Company and Allegro Coffee Company to bring a variety of flavors to its guests.

This third series installment will feature a collaboration coffee pale ale, for which Old Chicago employees and World Beer Tour members had a hand in creating, from the selection and roasting of coffee beans down to the actual brewing of the beer.

The final product, called De’Nileä Coffee Ale, is a deep, burnished-copper brew made with Allegro Coffee’s Blue Nile Blend, and is exclusively available at Old Chicago locations in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

“The Explorer Series has been a great program for us, and has exposed our guests to a variety of beer selections they may have never thought of trying before,” said Jason Murphy, Old Chicago’s brand manager. “It’s been a treat to collaborate with such iconic breweries, and be involved in the creation process with Left Hand for the De’Nileä Coffee Ale, emphasizing the fact that we truly believe in the beer that we serve.”

In addition to the De’Nileä Coffee Ale, the series also will feature other selections from Left Hand Brewery, including:

  • Milk Stout Nitroä – Super smooth milk stout with soft roastiness and mocha flavors
  • Sawtooth Ale Nitroä – Super smooth American-style extra strong bitter with nutty malt flavors balanced by herbal hops
  • 400 Pound Monkeyâ – English-style IPA with earthy, herbal hopnotes, well-balanced by bready malt
  • Wake Up Dead Nitroä – Super smooth Russian imperial stout trifecta of cocoa, dried fruit and licorice notes (available in bottle only)
As an added perk, guests who try the Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro will be able to enjoy it from the Spieglau Stout Glass. Developed specifically for complex stout beers, this glass designed by Spieglau will strengthen the aroma and improve the taste of the Left Hand Milk Stout compared to a traditional pint glass.

A leader in the traditional casual dining space, Old Chicago has been serving handcrafted cuisine and local craft beers across the nation for 37 years. Old Chicago is committed to quality creations and to showcasing local, regional and national craft brewers while providing great value in a welcoming atmosphere.
