Charles Edward Bice, Sr., 87, of Soddy Daisy, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.

He was a lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy and of the Church of God faith. Ed served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from the Hamilton County Highway Department and also was a Head Start bus driver. Ed was a great dad and loved by all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bice; parents, Oscar and Irene Bice and siblings, Leon Bice, Alma James and Judy Walker. 

Survivors include his children, Charles E. Bice, Jr., Alice Hindman (Glenn), Mary Ann Bradford (Tommy) and Cynthia McCullough (Ray); brothers, Aaron Bice, James L. Bice, Don Bice, Bill Bice and Tommy Bice; sisters, Tina Bailey and Elizabeth Eustice; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Melvin Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
