Ronald Bumcum
Ronald “Puddin” Edwin Bumcum, 59, died on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center.
He was born on July 20, 1956 to Charles Bumcum and Irma M. Fortson in Charleston, S.C.
He graduated from Howard High School in 1974. He accepted Christ at New Emmanuel Baptist Church at an early age under Rev. William Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irma M. Forston; aunt, Wilhelmena Porter; cousins, Robert “Slim” and Susie Fell; brother-in-law, Michael McClendon.
“Puddin” is survived by his father, Walter T. Fortson; brothers, Horry (Merlita) K. Bumcum, Manila Philippines and Thomas Fortson; sisters, Beverly L. McClendon and Minister Sharon M. Fortson, San Diego, CA; seven nephews, nieces; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, in the chapel. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Oct. 15, and the family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
