DesJarlais Praises Court Decision Granting Nationwide Stay On WOTUS

  • Tuesday, October 13, 2015

Congressman Scott DesJarlais released the following statement on Tuesday in response to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling granting a nationwide stay on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule:

“The WOTUS rule was an obvious and egregious overreach on behalf of the federal government. Its implementation would greatly hinder farmers and small business owners by forcing them to comply with overly burdensome regulations put in place by out of touch Washington bureaucrats.  I applaud our courts for protecting the rights of property owners across the United States and reining in this out of control administration.

I hope this court ruling will help to finally convince the EPA to act swiftly and withdraw this rule.”
