Christopher Andrew Brewer was arrested Tuesday morning after a text message soliciting a drug sale was sent in error to a Bradley County Sheriff’s detective on his county-issued cell phone.

Sheriff Eric Watson reported the detective was working in his office at the Judicial Center when a text message was received, “R 30s and Opana 40s today.”

The transaction was to involve a Schedule II narcotic. The detective responded asking for a location where they could meet to complete the transaction and a vehicle description they would be driving.

The location given was just off 25th Street.

Brewer, 27, of Northeast 8th Street, was at the location in a vehicle matching the description of the one given in the text message.

Detectives learned the text message was intended for an unidentified female.

He was taken into custody and charged with solicitation for the sale and delivery of a schedule II narcotic.
