An inmate at Silverdale Corrections has been charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly assaulted a corrections officer, throwing her against the wall and spraying her in the face with her own pepper spray.

When officers responded to Silverdale, they spoke with the victim, Rakiesha Lewis, who said that she was working her post on Sunday at a cell block when an inmate, Danny Lowrance, 33, became argumentative about the scheduled recreation time.

She said that Lowrance charged at her in an aggressive manner and she attempted to defend herself with her issued pepper spray.

But the victim said that before she could use the spray, the defendant grabbed her, threw her against a wall, and held her there so she could not move. She said that he then took her spray and sprayed her in the face with it, temporarily blinding her.

The victim said she was unable to call for help and it was only when another inmate assisted her that she received help and was able to make it to the central control office.
