2 Injured In Wreck On Mowbray Mountain Friday Morning

  • Friday, October 2, 2015

Mowbray fire officials report speed and weather played a factor on a crash on Mowbray Mountain this morning.

A motorist called 911 at 9:33 a.m. reporting a car had veered off the side of the Mowbray Mountain.

The Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department responded and confirmed the wreck was at 846 Montlake Road. Fire officials confirmed two individuals were driving south on Montlake Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, rode the guardrail 25-50 feet before the vehicle flipped on its top and over the guardrail.

The Mowbray VFD requested a mutual aid response for the Soddy Daisy Fire Department and Sequoyah VFD to assist with the rescue efforts. Firefighters used a wench on Soddy Daisy Fire Department’s Rescue truck and rope systems to secure the vehicle while rescue personnel extricated the patients from the vehicle. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Officers also assisted fire personnel with the rescue efforts.

Once the two patients were extricated from the vehicle, they were transported by Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital. Names of the two patients are unknown.
