How To Have A Happy Veteran's Day

  • Tuesday, November 10, 2015

Walk among the crosses this Veteran's day and note the peace and quiet that exists there separated from the bickering and divisiveness of the world we live in today.  Stand still for a moment and whisper the words, "Thank you for caring.  Thank you for the sacrifice you made."  You may not hear a voice responding, but you can almost detect a nodding acknowledgement as the flags quietly flutter above their graves.

Then leave that sacred site and seek out an ageing or scarred veteran, embrace them and say, "Thank you for caring.  Thank you for the sacrifice you made."  Listen closely to their voices made feeble from age or battles fought long ago for our freedom, for you will hear an echo from a multitude of crosses from countless veteran's cemeteries across our nation as they proudly become their spokesman.  As you do, you will find an even greater appreciation of Veteran's Day.
