Deovany Perez, 22, has been arrested in Red Bank for a burglary on Friday at an occupied residence and attempted murder of a resident at 110 Hendricks Boulevard.
On Friday, at approximately 10 p.m., officers responded to a call of a stabbing at 135 Hendricks Blvd. The police investigation led officers to 110 Hendricks Blvd. where they located a second stabbing victim and determined that both stabbings had occurred at that location.
Further investigation determined that Perez had broken out a front window of the residence at 110 Hendricks Blvd., entered the residence and began assaulting Marlon Mejia-Mendoza by stabbing him multiple times with a knife. During this assault, another resident of the house heard the commotion, entered the room and began defending Mejia-Mendoza. During the scuffle, Perez was disarmed and stabbed with the same knife. Perez was able to flee the residence and drive to 135 Hendricks Blvd. where he asked for assistance.
Both Perez and Mr. Mejia-Mendoza were transported by Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Perez was arrested after his release from the hospital and transported to the Hamilton County Jail. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder, and especially aggravated burglary. His bond is set at $50,000.
