November Is Good Time To Apply For Passports; Public Library Can Process Them

The State Department is reaching out to those who might need a passport in the future to apply now, promising a quicker turn around for the month of November.

Officials said now is the best time to apply before it gets difficult to get an appointment and the Passport offices become very busy.

The downtown Public Library is a Passport Acceptance Agency.

Mother Of 15-Year-Old Killed By His Father Said McElrath Had Been Acting "Manic"

The mother of a 15-year-old boy who was killed by his father said Michael McElrath had been acting "manic" in the days leading up to the tragic incident in Hixson on Aug. 18. Judge Alex McVeigh bound a charge of criminal homicide against McElrath, a former jail officer, to the Grand Jury. Darius Woods, 26, Arrested For Shooting Of Tavares Walker, 31, On Sept. 9

Chattanooga Police charged Darius Woods, 26, on Wednesday, with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
