Leta Tolbert
Leta M. Tolbert, 102, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, November 5, 2015.
Mrs. Tolbert was born in Crossville, Tn. and had lived in Lupton City, Tn. for 81 years. Leta was a long-time member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School for 20 years. She retired after 44 years from Dixie Yarns as chief payroll clerk. She was also a member of the Hixson Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charlie Tolbert.
Surviving are her son, Terry (Sharon) Tolbert, Saint Louis; grandson, Terry (Carolyn) Tolbert; grandson, Christian (Shelly) Tolbert; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Corey, Emma, Ella, Sydney, including the late Macy Ney Tolbert; cousin, Deanna Fugate; niece, Leta Annette (Jerry) Allen; and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Garden, Hixson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brooks Memorial UMC – Mission Fund, 1543 Mercer St., Lupton City, Tn. 37351.
