Representative Tom Graves issued the following statement today after voting in favor of S.J. Res. 23 and S.J. Res. 24, legislation expressing congressional disapproval of the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed rules to limit carbon emissions from power plants:
“I’m a triathlete and a hunter. Whether it’s in the mountains, on the coast, below the falls or on a rural route, my family and I love the outdoors and aim to spend as much time as possible exploring the beauty of our state.
I know firsthand that Georgians, by their nature, are good stewards of the resources we've been blessed with. Yet, instead of an approach to environmental safety that unites Americans, President Obama is trying to impose an international climate agenda by brute force. The extreme power plant regulations proposed by the president’s EPA will increase utility bills and put people out of work. The legislation the House passed today sends a powerful signal to the president and his climate conference in Paris: Congress will not subject the American people to a job-destroying climate agenda.”
S.J. Res. 23 and S.J. Res 24 both passed the House and will now be sent to the president’s desk, as the Senate passed both resolutions previously.
