Hixson Man Shot Twice In The Leg During Home Invasion

A Hixson man was shot twice in the leg during a home invasion on Wednesday morning.

Chattanooga Police responded to an apartment at the 1600 block of Greendale Way on the report of a burglary. Greendale Way is off Hixson Pike not far from Highway 153.

Once on the scene police spoke with the apartment management, who stated that a tenant had called him to let him know that his apartment had been broken into.

Police then learned the victim had been home when the break-in occurred.

The victim was confronted by three masked men who demanded money from him.

The victim was shot twice in the right leg when he refused to comply with the demands.

The suspects stole items and cash from the victim's residence.

The injured man drove himself to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Ricky Harper, 32, said he could only describe the suspects as black males.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525.  The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
