James Calvin Talley
A man who was assaulted outside the Chatt Inn on E. 23rd Street at first told police he did not know the black male who walked up to him and began hitting him for no reason. Later, Demmettrus Bradley said the attack was by James Calvin Talley and Shermaine Menifee.
Talley has been taken into custody on a charge of aggravated assault.
The victim, who was taken to the hospital and was found to have a broken arm, said Menifee punched him in the face first. He said when he fell after trying to run away that Talley punched him and kicked his arm.
He picked Talley and Menifee out of photo lineups.
