2 Arrested In String Of Robberies

  • Wednesday, December 9, 2015

The Chattanooga Police Department has arrested two suspects in relation to a string of robberies spanning the time period of Nov. 13 through Tuesday.

At this time, the suspects can be linked to four separate robbery and aggravated robbery cases. Additional cases may be cleared as the investigation continues.

On Tuesday, Chattanooga Police robbery investigators responded to a robbery from a person at 2020 Gunbarrel Road. The victim of this robbery was able to take a picture of the suspect vehicle as it was leaving and it was determined to be a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer. The suspect vehicle information was BOLO'd to all of the surrounding area agencies and was later located by Chattanooga Police neighborhood policing officers in the Brainerd area. The occupants of the vehicle were questioned in relation to the robbery at 2020 Gunbarrel Road and additional physical evidence linked this vehicle and occupants to other similar incidents.

The charges are as follows:

Christopher Suttles, 20

  • 11/13/2015 - Aggravated robbery, 2001 E. Main St.
  • 12/03/2015 - Aggravated robbery, 1601 E. 19th St.
  • 12/08/2015 - Robbery, 2020 Gunbarrel Road
Courtney Puckett, 22
  • 11/14/2015 - Robbery, 2317 Gifford St.
"These officers focused on these suspects and successfully cleared multiple criminal acts," said Chief of Police Fred Fletcher. "There is no doubt in my mind these criminals would have continued this brazen and reckless behavior. This is a time of year when our citizens are most vulnerable to robbery and burglary, these arrests make our streets safer."

Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department also believe these individuals are connected to several purse snatches in the East Brainerd and Hixson area. Investigators are requesting anyone with additional information concerning cases of this nature to please contact police at 423-698-2525.
