The Ebony & Ivory Gala will be held on Feb. 28 from 6-10 p.m. at Lindsey Street Hall. The gala is presented by Main Street Innovations and is dedicated to promoting positive race relations in and around Chattanooga. Musical guests include American Idol Finalist Jermaine Purifory and TSJ Soul.
Honoree recognition will be given to the following families: Bobby Joe and Floria Adamson, Mel and Dr. Eleanor Cooper and Franklin and Tresa McCallie.
Additional awards, including The Ebony & Ivory Legacy Award, will be given at the event in recognition of those fostering positive race relations, friendship and community.
"We hope that this event can not only draw attention to the good work already being done in our community, but also grow friendships across race lines,” said Donna Christian-Lowe, Main Street Innovations, COO. “We believe that one of the leading ways to promote better relationships is one friendship at a time. Our event will give attendees a place to come together and meet new people. Annually, we plan to recognize businesses and individuals leading the way in our communities.”
The event will feature a seated dinner, musical entertainment, dancing and honoree ceremony. Tickets are $35, available on Facebook in a limited supply at Facebook.com/ebonyandivoryofchattanooga
