The Planning Commission on Monday afternoon recommended approval for a new Walmart Supercenter on Highway 58.
The center will be built at North Hickory Valley Road.
It will have 155,000 square feet of space.
City Councilman Russell Gilbert called it "a great opportunity for the Highway 58 area."
He said Highway 58 at one time was growing, but it seemed to come to a halt.
