David Kadlec, 46, Arrested On Multiple Charges, Including Assaulting A Bradley County Deputy

  • Saturday, March 21, 2015

David Paul Kadlec, 46, who was wanted for punching a Bradley County deputy sheriff and other charges, was arrested on Saturday.

Kadlec was spotted by a landowner near a trailer park on Peakland Road near Oak Grove Road in Meigs County about noon on Saturday. A citizen approached Kadlec, who police said was in the process of burglarizing a residence. The citizen was able to subdue Kadlec after a foot chase and called 911.

Meigs County deputies soon arrived and placed Kadlec under arrest, according to Chris Hill of the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department.  Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson responded to the Meigs County Jail to take the wanted man into custody.  Kadlec was transported back to the Bradley County Jail by Bradley County Deputy Michael Westfield.

Kadlec was initially wanted for a violation of probation, and, when Deputy Tiffany Goodwin sought to arrest him on that charge several days ago, he punched her in the face and ran into a wooded area near the Bradley-Meigs line.  An intensive search then got underway, with officers just missing Kadlec several times, including early Saturday morning.

Kadlec was booked into the Bradley County Jail on the violation of probation charges, resisting stop and arrest, aggravated assault and criminal trespassing.  In addition, he is being detained for the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department for burglary.

Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson said, “The cooperation with the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department was excellent. I thank Meigs County Sheriff Jackie Melton and his officers for their valuable help in seeking and arresting David Paul Kadlec. I’m not going to tolerate folks like Mr. Kadlec who assault an officer and commit other crimes. He is now where he needs to be - in jail.”
