2 Women Killed In Head-On Hixson Pike Crash Wednesday Morning; Victims Identified

Two women were killed in a Hixson Pike crash on Wednesday morning.

They were identified as Judy A. Jeffers, 63, and Julie A. Hairfield, 36. 

At approximately 6:23 a.m., the Chattanooga Police Department responded to 6600 Hixson Pike for a traffic crash. Officers discovered that two vehicles collided head on. 

One driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The other driver was transported by HCEMS to a local hospital for serious injuries, and later died. One of the drivers was initially trapped inside, and it was necessary to cut the roof off.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this traffic crash to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
