Munck, Philip Edward (Cleveland)

  • Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Philip Edward Munck, 56, of Cleveland, TN, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 1, 2015 while on a Disney Cruise with his wife and children.

He was a native of Cleveland, a member of Mount Olive Church of God for 25 years, and co-owner of Re/Max Experience.   He liked hunting, camping, and fishing, loved just hanging out with his boys, taking family trips which they did together often, taking his wife on date nights, and flipped houses in his spare time.  But more than anything it was the everyday way he adored his boys and wife of 20 years.  He played baseball for Cleveland State, and then was drafted by the Boston Red Sox Minor League Organization.  Once owner of Sunset Portraits, he was an extraordinary photographer.

He was preceded in death by parents, Harold Philip “Hal” Munck and Elizabeth Parson Munck.

He is survived by his wife, Markietta Sue Munck of Cleveland; four sons, Hunter Edward Munck, Jordan Philip Munck, Christian Harold Munck and Jaxson Munck, all of Cleveland; his special little princess, Brittani Kay Pederson; two sisters, Karen King and husband Bill of Murfreesboro, TN and Anna Sterrett and husband Brett of Cleveland; one brother, Arthur Munck and wife Laura of Cleveland; step-mother, Charlotte Munck of Cleveland; and 19 nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 7, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Sears officiating.  Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery with Andrew Sterrett, Brandon Sterrett, Madison Munck, James Munck, Randy Minter, Kenneth Anderson, John King and Lebron Tinker serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 6, at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mount Olive Church of God for “Those in Need in the Community Fund.”  Mail to:  3522 Harrison Pike, Cleveland, TN 37311.
