Coty Harris, 20, Killed In Monday Morning, Single-Car Accident

Entrance To Westbound I-24 At Moore Road Now Reopened

Coty Harris, 20, was killed in a single-car accident early Monday morning. 

Around 2:30 a.m. the Chattanooga Police Department was called to 4700 North Terrace on a single-vehicle crash.  

It is believed that the SUV was traveling west on 18300 I-24 when for an unknown reason, Mr. Harris drifted off the roadway and drove through the grass on the right side of the interstate. The vehicle continued through the grass until it struck a chain link fence. 

Mr. Harris was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

North Terrace and the entrance to Westbound I-24 at Moore Road were closed temporarily and reopened just before 7 a.m.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
