Joan Hanks, Prudhomme Fort Chapter awards chairman and Lota Greer, Chapter Dame of the Year.
Lota Greer, a native of Dunlap, received the honor of Prudhomme Fort Chapter Dame of the Year, being given the award by Mrs. Joan Hanks, chapter awards chairman.
Ms. Greer has held member-ship in the chapter for several years; and has served as chapter registrar.
She is the widow of Circuit Court Judge Thomas A. Greer, Jr., being married for 67 years. She has three sons, Stephen T. Greer, Attorney, of Dunlap; Dr. Pat Greer, Surgeon, of Winchester, Tn.; and Dr.
Mike Greer, surgeon in Chattanooga. She has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Prudhomme Fort Chapter invites prospective members to be a part of a growing chapter involved in community projects: sponsoring scholarships for qualifying students; patriotic endeavors to honor veterans; enhancing library inventories; supporting museums; and preservation of historical sites.
