Jonathan Lewis Lamar Meeks
Jonathan Lewis Lamar Meeks, 28, of Georgetown, was arrested in Bradley County on Thursday on a variety of charges.
Members of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office’s Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions took Meeks into custody at a northwestern Cleveland motel late Thursday afternoon. At the time of his arrest, Meeks was in possession of four loaded guns, all of which were tied to recent burglaries in this area. He also was carrying a large amount of cash on his person.
Meeks attempted to evade arrest, forcing officers to employ a taser to subdue him.
Meeks has four outstanding charges, including aggravated burglary, burglary, forgery and illegal possession of and fraudulent use of a credit card. These counts will join a total of 17 more charges connected to new offenses. Members of the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division worked into the night Thursday to build the cases against Meeks.
Sheriff Watson commented on the arrest by saying, “Once again cooperation between officers has led to the clearing of numerous cases and the return of stolen items. One case always leads to another…and we are able to return many items to their owners.”
Meeks has been booked into the Bradley County Jail.
