Chart-topping pop band Walk the Moon played Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom Friday, April 24 to a sold-out crowd.  The band is in the middle of its Talking Is Hard tour.

The Griswolds, an Australian indie-rock foursome, opened the show getting the crowd properly pumped for the main act.  Delivering a 10-song set, The Griswolds had their fair share of fans singing along to their popular tracks like “Beware the Dog” and “Be Impressive,” the latter featuring a highly addictive chorus.

Walk the Moon took the stage under a glare of lights and to the sounds of “Circle of Life” from Disney’s The Lion King.  Quickly transitioning to the lead track, “Different Colors”, from its latest album Talking Is Hard, the band had the crowd dancing from the very start.

The youthful crowd shared the band’s love of color and fun, with many faces in the audience painted to match their idols.  The “Shut Up and Dance” band gave a lively and extremely energetic performance, playing a mixed set of songs from their new album and a handful of tracks from their 2012 self-titled release, like crowd favorite “Anna Sun.”

Lead singer Nicholas Petricca was constantly moving and dancing. Fans in the audience were jumping along to each synth-filled, drum-driven song.  Walk the Moon delivered an insanely fun 16-song set that kept everyone singing, dancing and smiling all night long.
