McCann, Shirley Elizabeth (Cleveland)

Shirley Elizabeth McCann, 77, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the family residence.

Shirley was the daughter of the late Esther Wampler McCann and William “Bill” McCann; and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Ponder and her husband Vincent, Ruby Bryant and her husband Emary and Janice Campbell and her husband Joe; her brothers, Harold Wampler and his wife Agnes, J. B. Wampler and his wife Dorothy and Arthur McCann and his wife Ann; her brothers-in-law, David Moore and Jim Ownbey; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley enjoyed the outdoors including hiking and walking and traveling with her family. She was a member of the Pathway Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Lillian Moore, Patsy Edwards and her husband Jim and Billie Jean Ownbey; her brothers, Don McCann and his wife Bernice and Herman McCann and his wife Fay; and her 38 nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Sunday, May 17, at 3 p.m. from the Pathway Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery with nephews serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
