William  “Bill”  Dobson,  83,  of  LaFayette,  Georgia, passed  away  Saturday,  May  16,  2015,  at  his  residence.

He  was  born November  24,  1931,  in  LaFayette  to  the  late  Homer  and  Emma  Dobson. He  was  a  1950  graduate  of  LaFayette  High  School and  a  veteran  of  the  U.S.  Air  Force,  during  the  Korean  War.

Bill  was  preceded  in  death  by  his  parents;  brothers,  Leroy,  Johnny  and  Oliver  Dobson; and sisters,  Doris  Scoggins,  Bernice  Brown  and  Virginia  Dobson.

Bill  is  survived  by  his  wife,  Sammie  Frye  Dobson;  son  and  daughter-in-law,  William  Gregory  and  Rachel  Dobson  of  Macon,  GA;  grandchildren,  Amanda  (Mauro)  DeMuro  of  Rome,  Italy,  Meredith  Dobson  of  Statesboro,  GA,  Elizabeth,  Henry  and  Peter  Dobson  of  Macon,  GA;  sisters-in-law, Georgia Dobson  of  South  Pittsburg,  TN  and  Frances  Dobson  of  LaFayette; and several  nieces  and  nephews.

A  Graveside  service  will  be  held  at  LaFayette  Cemetery,  Tuesday,  May  19,  at 2 p.m. 

Family  will  receive  friends  at  the  funeral  home  from  noon  until  service  time on Tuesday, May 19.

If  friends  of  the  family  wish  to  honor  his  memory,  memorial  contributions  may  be  made  to  a  charity  of  choice  or  to  the  First  Baptist  Church  of  LaFayette,  GA.
