Carliss Leroy Buice, 76, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, in a Rome health care facility.
Native to Lupton City, TN, he was born to the late Carliss Cleo and Lenora Westbrook Buice on April 17, 1939. Mr. Buice was had been a resident of Chattooga County since the age of four; was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, having served as Deacon Chairman, Sunday School Teacher, and Choir member for many years. He had served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was former owner/operator of Jones & Buice Insurance (which later became Buice Insurance Agency) in Summerville.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Parker Buice; daughter & spouse, Sonya Buice Stallings and Bruce Stallings of Birmingham, AL.; sons and spouses, Dr. Shawn and Gloria Buice of Malone, FL and Scott L. and Paula Buice of Summerville; brother & spouse, Gary L. and Janice Buice of Greenville, N. C.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.
The Family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Summerville First Baptist Church Multimedia Fund or the Youth of the Church.
