Jeb Bush Has It Somewhat Wrong About Gay Marriage

  • Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Can we please not have to endure yet another member of the Bush family running for the Presidency?  They've done enough damage.  I read the comments Jeb Bush made about the constitutionality of gay marriage.   He says it is not unconstitutional for states to ban it.  However,  which Constitution is he referring to?  The last time I read it, it said all were created equal.  So how is gay marriage exactly not a equal right in this country?

Who we love is not a choice.  It is genetically proven.  We can't change that about ourselves.  Equality is supposed to be for all. You can't exclude a minority just because you don't agree with or understand them. That would be called discrimination, and it is also illegal in this country.

The only reason that gay marriage could ever impact a heterosexual marriage is if one of the two getting married is gay.  The way we are discriminated against makes it to where some gay people can't be their true selves.  They need courage and strength. They need to know it's ok. They are not alone.  Way too many of our LGBT youth and young adults are killing themselves because they think society in the greatest country in the world hates them. They feel as if they have no other choice and no one to turn to. they need help and protection as well.

Plus, he says traditional marriage protects children and they are better off in a traditional marriage. Read some science.  It has been studied and shown that kids are fine in any type of loving family. Why does it matter about the composition of that family?

Who protects kids in traditional marriages when those households have drug problems, abuse, including physical, mental, and emotional, neglected kids, etc? If traditional marriages have issues, and gay marriage is such an abomination, then why does it matter who makes up the members of a marriage? As long as there is love, caring, compassion, and everything a family is supposed to represent, then who does it really hurt if two men, two women, or a man and a woman make up the marriage? A family is a family.
