Retro TV, LLC announced the addition of two classic lifestyle programs to its lineup Monday. Cooking with Dione Lucas and Open Book are expected to debut on Retro TV later this summer. With these additions, Retro TV will offer classic entertainment, educational and lifestyle television.

Cooking with Dione Lucas originally appeared on CBS beginning in 1948. The host, Ms. Lucas, was the first woman to graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and the first female chef to be featured in a national cooking show.  A native of Great Britain, she founded Le Cordon Bleu restaurant and cooking school in New York and is credited for introducing America to the omelette. Ms. Lucas was named one of Time’s Top 10 TV Chefs in 2009.

Open Book, a book review show featuring interviews with authors, originally ran on A&E for over 10 years as part of their Breakfast with the Arts series on Sunday mornings. The series is hosted by documentarian and journalist Perri Peltz.

Luken’s Vice President of Programming Matthew Golden said, “We at Retro TV pride ourselves in offering our viewers The Best in Classic Television. Cooking with Dione Lucas and Open Book add another genre, completing the package. Where else can vintage TV enthusiasts find not only classic entertainment but also classic documentaries and lifestyle programming?”
