I really don't understand why you seem so surprised and incensed by Senator Alexander's position and activities.
When you have a Republican Party so captured by the Tea Party Know Nothings, and the principalities and powers that manipulate them, who are so indifferent to the human condition that they would deny basic healthcare to hundreds of thousands of poor Tennesseans; so callous that they would actually cheer, during a presidential debate, the prospect of letting uninsured accident victims "just die" on the side of the road, why are you surprised that their representatives would be indifferent to the systematic and very public abuse of animals?
