Christine And Henry Little Endowed Nursing Scholarship Awarded

  • Friday, June 19, 2015

Christine Little is a long-time supporter of CHI Memorial, along with her late husband Henry. Mrs. Little also spent many years as a volunteer at CHI Memorial. Prompted by excellent care they received, the philanthropic couple established the Christine and Henry Little Endowed Nursing Scholarship with CHI Memorial Foundation in honor of Drs. Bill Warren, Eric Conn and Keith Bruce.

The Christine and Henry Little Endowed Nursing Scholarship is awarded to a CHI Memorial nurse focused on cardiovascular nursing who is pursing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis.

Jordan Hamilton, RN, is the first scholarship recipient. Hamilton has been with Memorial since 2012 and is currently a registered nurse working in the Cardiac Telemetry Unit at CHI Memorial’s Glenwood campus.

“Mrs. Little’s entire career was spent in nursing, at the bed side as well as in leadership roles with the UTC College of Nursing,” said Jennifer Nicely, CHI Memorial Foundation President. “She was a very early proponent of Bachelors-prepared nurses and is enthusiastic about helping CHI Memorial nurses pursue additional education.”
