  • Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Hutcheson Medical Center announced Tuesday that it will be moving forward with its strategic plan by partnering with a new provider for emergency physician services, ApolloMD. ApolloMD will begin providing services at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Apollo is a leading multi-specialty, physician-led practice group based in Atlanta. ApolloMD operates in 17 states, including 15 emergency medicine contracts in Georiga.  In the emergency department, ApolloMD providers specialize in process and quality improvements that lead to decreased wait times and increased patient satisfaction. The physicians will work collaboratively with local medical staff members to improve patient flow and ensure access to the highest quality emergency care.

“We are so excited about partnering with Apollo MD,” said Farrell Hayes, CEO of Hutcheson Medical Center.  “This collaboration will bring a tremendous level of clinical care to Hutcheson and improved patient satisfaction. It’s a great day for Hutcheson and a much needed health care advancement for our community.”

Sandra Siniard, Hutcheson’s chief nursing officer said, “we are committed to making our emergency department the best in the region. Hutcheson’s goal is to provide excellent patient care to the residents of our communities. Our collaboration with ApolloMD will take us into the next phase of our plan on focusing on excellent customer service and high quality evidence-based medicine.”

Full-time physicians have the opportunity to become owners in ApolloMD, enhancing the group’s ability to recruit and retain top clinical providers. ApolloMD will partner with the medical staff, nursing team, and administration at Hutcheson to optimize the patient experience through its data-driven, patient centered model.

“ApolloMD is honored and excited about the opportunity to provide emergency care within the Fort Oglethorpe community,” said Dr. Boykin Robinson, divisional president for ApolloMD. “We look forward to partnering with Hutcheson’s outstanding nursing team and medical staff to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.”

Hutcheson Medical Center treats over 32,000 patients a year in its emergency department.
