Joyce Atkins, 50, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Betty Gibbs; infant daughter, Kristy Atkins; and infant granddaughter, Aalliyah Marie Atkins.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Danny Atkins; daughters, Brenda Fay Atkins and Moises Rodriquez and Rhonda Gail Atkins, all of Dalton, Linda and Bruce Moore of Ringgold and Reba and Bobby Bowen of Chatsworth; sons, Daniel Lee Atkins and Ashleigh Thomas of Varnell, Robert Lee Atkins of Chatsworth; sister, Vicky and Barry Green of Tennga; brothers, Ricky and Beverly Gibbs of Tennga, Reece and Nettie Gibbs of Benton, TN; grandchildren, Bryleigh Atkins, Khloie Thomas, Ashley Moore, Brian and Brandon Hooker; great-grandchild, Patrick Hooker; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 4 , at 4 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Payne officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 4 from 1-4 p.m.
