  • Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Two University of Tennessee students involved in a tragic jet ski incident at Lake Chickamauga were fraternity brothers.

William Coker, 21, of Collierville, died after being taken to Erlanger Hospital following the crash near Island Cove Marina.

Logan Nichelson, also 21, was charged with boating under the influence. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said it would be up to the district attorney's office on whether additional charges will be filed.

Nichelson told a TWRA officer he had 4-5 beers prior to the collision.

The victim and Nichelson were members of Sigma Nu fraternity at UT-Knoxville.

An online fundraising drive is underway to aid the Coker family with funeral expenses. Over $5,000 was raised the first day.

The incident happened on Saturday.
