Attorney General Says Release Of Legislators' Health Care Insurance Information Did Not Violate Federal Privacy Act

  • Monday, June 8, 2015

The state attorney general's office has ruled that the release of information about the health care insurance coverage for state legislators did not violate federal privacy laws.

Requests had been made under the state Public Records Act for the information.

Data requested went back to 1992 and included how much the legislators paid in premiums and the amount contributed by the state.

The information was sought by Rep. Kevin Brooks and Rep. Rick Womick.
