Rev. Reid Selected As New Pastor Of Second Missionary Baptist

Officers and members of Second Missionary Baptist Church announced the selection of a new pastor, the Rev. Dr. Ernest L. Reid, former pastor of Zion Baptist Church, Reading, Penn.

Rev. Reid is an accomplished minister and pastor with a broad background in theology and community service.  Reid completed his undergraduate work in economics at Christopher Newport University, Newport News, VA.  After earning a masters in Divinity and Theology from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University and Union Presbyterian Seminary respectively, Dr.
Reid earned his doctors of Divinity degree also from Samuel Dewitt.  He has done further course work at the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences. 

He believes community and civic involvement are vital in the work of "Kingdom Building."  Dr. Reid will bring his first "official" message to the congregation on Sunday, July 19, at the 10:45 a.m. service.  The Chattanooga community is invited to come out and join Second Baptist in welcoming Rev. Reid and his family to the city.
