Much like the mission of Cleveland Middle School is to provide students a diverse, well-rounded education that strives to identify and maximize student potential, CHI Memorial Convenient Care provides trusted care for unexpected bumps, bruises, colds or coughs.

CHI Memorial Convenient Care became a member of the Cleveland/Bradley County Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 15 of this year. Since that time, the office at Mouse Creek—Publix Center, 645 Paul Huff Pkwy NW, Ste. 105, has provided health care, offered classes and instituted efforts to get involved in the local community. It is now part of the Chamber’s newest BEST partnership.

BEST, an acronym for Business & Education Serving Together, is a program of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce that connects a business and a selected school to enhance the quality of life for our community and provide business support for our educational programs.

“Memorial Convenient Care feels it is important to stay connected with our families and young ones in the community, to help show them the importance of health care and healthy living,” said Christine Orsburn, practice manager of CHI Memorial Convenient Care—Cleveland. “We want to be a larger part of the community, and we feel this is a great way to do that.”

Memorial Convenient Care provides the community with urgent medical care for many common conditions, including allergies and asthma, fevers and flu, and stitches and sprains. With convenient hours and staffed with the highest quality healthcare professionals, care is available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. They also coordinate with a patient’s personal physician to ensure follow-up care.

Ms. Orsburn said about the BEST partnership commitment, “We are excited about partnering with Cleveland Middle School and helping them grow this school year.”

CMS Principal Mike Collier also anticipates a positive 2015-16 school year with their new BEST partner.

“We are looking forward to working with CHI Memorial Convenient Care as a BEST partner,” he said. “We are very appreciative that they wanted to take their time to support our students and teachers at Cleveland Middle School. We would also like to thank the Chamber for working with our schools through the BEST Partner program. This program is very beneficial to our school in many ways.”

Cleveland Middle School, at 3635 Georgetown Rd. NW, is home to almost 1,200 Blue Raiders in grades 6-8.

Sherry Crye, director of workforce development for the Chamber of Commerce, coordinates the BEST partnership program.

“Several of the Chamber’s newer businesses are reaching out to schools in our community,” Ms. Crye said. “They are demonstrating what it means to be good corporate citizens through our workforce development program and are helping to ensure we have a prepared workforce.”

According to Ms. Crye, schools in the Bradley County and Cleveland City School Systems have one or more local business partners as part of the BEST program. Private schools that are Chamber members may also participate in the program.

For information about the BEST partnership program, call Crye at 472-6587.
