Keith Franklin Parker, 34, was arrested Tuesday for aggravated burglary after he allegedly broke into a man’s house and stole a desktop computer as well as the victim’s military dog tags and various military patches.

Officers responded to a call about a burglary on 18th Avenue on June 24, where the victim’s sister stated that her brother’s home had been broken into in the last day.

The victim, Ivan Boatwright, had been hospitalized and was unable to speak because his tongue was removed, police said.

The day after that burglary, a detective contacted local authorities and advised that he had learned in another investigation that Parker had sold the stolen items to a man, Ricky Moore, living on Dodds Avenue.

Moore said he had purchased the items from a white male and he produced the missing items when asked. He was also able to point the defendant out of a photo lineup.

On Tuesday of the following week, the defendant was seen by law enforcement riding in the passenger seat of a green Dodge Stratus on Harrison Pike. The vehicle was stopped and Parker was taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
