  • Thursday, August 13, 2015

A Dayton, Tn., man has been sentenced to serve 27 years in federal prison on child pornography charges.

Jonathan Eugene Loper appeared before Federal Judge Thomas Varlan in Knoxville.

Loper will also be under supervised release for 25 years after getting out of prison.

His sentence was enhanced by the fact he had been convicted in 2007 in Rhea County for aggravated sexual abuse involving a minor.

In the federal case, agents said on Oct. 30, 2012, he used a computer to send child pornography to an individual in Ontario, Canada.

They said in April 2013 he posted nine digital images and a video of child pornography on an Internet website.
