The visit of Washington dignitaries for Saturday's memorial service boosted fuel sales at the Wilson Air Center at the Chattanooga Airport.
The Boeing C17 occupied by Vice President Joe Biden filled up with 5,000 gallons.
The center sold 11,000 gallons for all the planes that arrived at the airport for the rites.
Others who attended included Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus as well as other top military personnel.
Airport officials said emplanements at the local airport continue to climb. They were up nearly 13 percent in June and over seven percent in July.
The rise is 12.5 percent for the year to date, Airport President Terry Hart said.
"The customers are continuing to get on board here in Chattanooga and we're pleased to see that," he said.
The airport last month opened 210 "much-needed" parking spaces in a new lot, and improvements are set in the short- and long-term lots.
Mr. Hart said a new community hangar has been designed and should go out for bid in September. It will be on the west side of the airport and have 28,000 square feet of space.
Construction is set to begin in October and take about seven months.
Mr. Hart said, with all the recent renovations on the main Terminal, it now has LEED silver certification.
