Horace Venton Curry, Sr., 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015.
He was born July 6, 1936 in Glasgow, KY, a graduate of Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, and was employed by Franklin Strickland and Hardwick and Sons Funeral Homes. He was a member of the Tennessee Funeral Director’s Mortician Association and other local associations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Green Venton and Susie Burberich Curry.
He is survived by his daughters, Gwen (Tyrone) Evans and Coletta (Clarence) Holcomb; son, Horace Venton (Kimberly) Curry, Jr.; brother, A. Frazier (Carla) Curry; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; one niece; one great-nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Service will be held Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Samuel Jackson, Rev. Jimmy Ingram, Eulogist, and other ministers officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
His remains will lie in state at the church from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour.
