Tom Ables
Funeral services will be Friday for 70-year-old Thomas Howard Ables, who died Tuesday in a tractor accident at his farm at Daisy.
A lifelong Daisy resident, Mr. Ables worked at DuPont for several years and retired from the Hamilton County Schools. He was a member of Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle where he served as a deacon and head usher. He was Past Master at Daisy Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM.
His obituary says he "bush hogged for many people and did special work for friends, family, and neighbors. He was respected and loved by everyone who knew him."
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Cathy Sunderland Ables; daughters, Brandy Green, Dana Leffew; grandsons, Dakota Ables, Kaden Green, Keith Leffew, Jayden Ables; brothers, Bob (Jessie) Ables, Pete Ables, Jim (Jackie) Ables, Buck (Nancy) Ables, and Jerry (Doris) Ables.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Brooks Green and Rev. David Stancil officiating. It will be followed by a Masonic service by the Daisy Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM.
Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
