Four teens were arrested early Friday morning when they were caught breaking into Boyd-Buchanan School in Brainerd.
The Chattanooga Police Department was dispatched to 4623 Dorisa Ave. on a report of suspicious activity. A CPD K-9 officer was the first on the scene and located an SUV backed up to the gate to a side entrance of the school.
Initially thinking it was unoccupied, the officer approached and observed four people inside rustling around. They refused police commands. Other CPD units arrived and detained the four individuals while the vehicle was searched.
In the rear of the SUV, 21 MacBooks belonging to the school were located, with an approximate value of $14,700. Additionally, a locked box filled with 25 Mini iPads belonging to the school, with an approximate value of $7,500, was located near the gate.
Officers checked the premises and located a window that had been broken where entry to the school was made.
The four suspects were arrested. They are Deshunn Cummings, 18, Cameron Barnett, 18, and two minors, one age 17 and one age 11.
