Ober Gatlinburg announced the opening of an exciting year-round adventure attraction: Ski Mountain Coaster. The coaster opened Monday, at 10 a.m. The Ski Mountain Coaster departs next to Ober’s Snow Tubing Park and begins with a 1000 foot uphill ride through the woods that border Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Once at the top, riders wisp through 2750 feet of adrenaline pumping turns, dips, zigs, zags, corkscrews and G-force action adventures. Riders are able to enjoy the high-speed adventure while hugging every turn and reaching speeds up to 25 mph or choose a more relaxed pace suitable for all ages.

Tickets are available on-site at Ober Gatlinburg for $15 per ride or three rides for $36. The ride is approximately five minutes and 30 seconds long and covers 3750 feet.

Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area and Amusement Park is Tennessee’s only ski area and continues to be a favored year-round attraction. Ober’s sixth annual Oktoberfest will begin Sept. 25, and run through Nov. 1. Guests can enjoy multiple show times of The Bavarian Fun Makers Oompah Band every day while indulging in authentic German cuisine at Seasons of Ober Restaurant. Each weekend of Oktoberfest, Ober’s Bier Garten will feature different German Biers and Wines with fun and games for the entire family.
